I too have had surgery in both hands for carpal tunnel and that was in 97. Within about 16 months the numbness returned in my left hand first but is now in both hands. The pain is getting worse all the time. I have had 2 doctors tell me I need surgery the second time and am in doubt also but don't want to spend the rest of my life in these braces. I am only 49 and have many thing I want to do but am restricted. Someone told me they had heard about laser surgery for the second surgery and it had worked, but I have never heard of the laser. Has anyone heard of the laser surgery for carpal tunnel?
