Several months ago, I picked up my adult german shepard (she was seriously ill and I needed to get her to the vet's). I experienced an excruciating pain in my side, was admitted to the emergency room with suspected appendicitis, and underwent an exploratory procedure that showed an erupted ovarian cyst. I did not even know I had a cyst. I weigh about 135 pounds. Did picking up the dog contribute to the cyst bursting? I hear of people who have them for years and they never burst. I don't want to do that again but had not choice but to pick up my dog. Anyone have this kind of experience? Any recommendations?
