Gayle - The cause of lymphedema has very little to do with the treatment. Primary lymphedema occurs because of some problem inherent to the lymph system of the individual as opposed to secondary whigh you know is caused by some physical/mechanical disruption of the lymph system. The best treatment is compression and manual lymph drainage. Look up KloseNorton or Vodder schools to see if they can hook you up with a Physical Therapist certified in the treatment technique.
