Aaron - It is related to your sunburn - the same exact thing happens to me. I never get fever blisters unless I've been to the beach, about two or three times per summer. I try to remember to use a lip balm with a sunscreen in it and keep applying it while there. I never asked my doctor so I don't know either why this happens.
