I read a book once about a mother whose daughter was autistic. Throughout her travels and research she found a doctor to help. Her daughter's symptoms sound similar to your's. She had heightened senses, where sounds and colors and smells were so disturbing to her, she couldn't function normally. The girl said that rain sounded like pellets, the way typing does to you. She did find help with an ear doctor, who used sound frequencies to help her. This lady and daughter now live in San Diego, CA. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the book, but maybe you can check out Autism research in San Diego. (Which is what she suggested in the book.) She also said after her daughter went through this (Pain-LESS) treatment she went on to have a normal, healthy life. I hope this may help you have some relief or find some alternative research.
