EBV

Irving, I too have been diagnosed with EBV, and suffer a lot of the same symptoms that you described. I was constantly fatigued, anxious, depressed, and had problems assimilating information, and problems with short term memory. However, I have a wonderful doctor who has seen the effects of EBV on one of his immediate family members, and prescribed Effexor, which is an anti-anxiety, anti-depression medication. Because of the muscle and joint aches, he prescribed Amitriptalyne to be taken before bedtime so I can actually get some sleep and not be kept awake all night due to the pain. It is one of the older anti-depressants but has properties that make it useful as a sleep aid and pain reliever. I am still in the active phase of this little annoyance and often find myself too fatigued to even think. I am unable to even work at this time, and wonder when I will feel better, but the medication has done wonders. I can definitely tell the difference when I don't take it, and I was amazed when my doctor explained that EBV can actually cause depression. Keep hanging in there, you aren't going crazy. There is an actual, physical cause for your problems, and the good news is that they can be alleviated.
