I have developed Cushing's syndrome from high does of prednisone. I have most of the symptoms - mmon face, hump on my neck, sixty-five pound weight gain. I was weaned from the prednisone and developed Adrenal Gland Insuffiiency. My adrenal went to sleep and is not functioning. I have been sick since NOv. "97. It took a year to get a diagnosis. On my thrid attempt, I found a wonderful endocrinologist. This is the type of doctor you should see. I also developed asthma in Nov. "97 which precipated the prednisoe. I have been down to 5 mg every day, then in Jan. of this year, my asthma flared up, I got a urinary tract infection and went into a severe adrenal crisis and was hospitialized for 9 days. It is now June and I am down to 8.5 mg a day. I cannot work because of the fatigue and muscle weakness. Write back if you want more info. JanPT@aol.com
