The bad thing about Lice is that the adults can live up to 72 hours off the "human host". The "Nits" or "eggs" can live several weeks and they are VERY hard to kill. Only three ways that I know of: 1) Wash everything (and I do mean everything, bedding, clothing, brushes, hair goods, hats, etc) in HOT water 2) Vaccum all furniture, rugs, beds, etc and throw the bag in the garbage immediately and bag up all stuffed animals and get out of the house and 3) Buy the spray at Kmart or target that can be used on furniture & rugs and spray the heck out of your house ( make sure there are NO pets, fish, kids in the house at the time)! REPEAT in 7 days. NO FUN whatsoever...all I can say is that thousands of kids come home from school each year and the parents bear the burden. Hope this helps!
