hi. if the bed and sheets are closed up in a sealed room, the adult lice will die with no food in about 24 hours. the eggs can last up to 48 hours due to hatching with no food. bleach will kill the lice and eggs on bedding and combs ect. the room itself should be sealed off and sprayed with a lice spray. seal stuffed animals in plastic bags. bedding and items should be baged and tied and sealed in the room until the time of waiting is over (24 to 48 hours) my husband work in a hospital. he got this information from the health department. good luck. margarita
