i had suffered since i was 17 with a goiter and they kept putting me on thyroid meds and then taking me off each time my levels would drop. well after having two kids they fianally put me on it for the priod of two years straight and then after i had my hysterectomy in june of last year my gyn did a tsh/t4 level and it was out again. i then went back to my e.n.t. doc after a scare in the e.r. thinking i was having a heartattack. he said it was my thyroid and it had to come out. he had a ct scan of my neck ddone and it was covering my wind pipe and wrapping arond my insides. he put me in and he says as he cut my neck it slid out and looked like a 8oz steak and it was why i was having so many problems. i have been with out it now for three weeks and i don't miss it. i still take my synthroid but the level will come down soon. good luck. tanya chickenlips_1969@yahoo.com
