My infant was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Her hydrocephalus has been the most prominent issue, due to her brain anomalies. She has already had an infection/revision and is only 3 months old. As I am typing this, we are watching signs of yet another shunt malfunction. I am interested in correspondence with anyone in similar situation for discussion and support. I am particularly interested in feedback from an adult with a shunt, because I would like to know how it feels to have a shunt, how recovery from surgery is for you, how much pain is associated with malfunctions and surgery, etc. I wish my infant could tell me, it would ease my mind to at least have an idea of what she's going through.
