For 2 years we tried to find out what was wrong with my husband. In Oct 97 we went to Mayo clinic in MN and received the news. In answer to Clyde, my husband also appears to have dementia, but I believe ( and maybe I'm just wishing), they are like in a slowed down state. Their reactions are so slow that it seems worse than it is. You may check her medicines also. My husband is on a muscle relaxer that causes him to have very real dreams at times. He wants to act on them and insists I do things that don't make sense. It is a horrible disease.
