I can also get you in touch with the best doctors in the U.S. My husband had the clotting of the hepatic veins coming out of the liver. It was only after his necessary liver transplant that the inferior vena cava clotted. I am sorry and every case is different. My husband was diagnosed with Budd-Chiari in 1995. It is very rare. The doctors have international conferences on Budd-Chiari where there is the sharing of information. I do not have the internet at home but access it at the library.
