A medical geneticist, pediatric reconstructive plastic surgeon, or a craniofacial team would be able to diagnose unilateral coronal craniosynostosis. There are occasional genetic abnormalities associated with unilateral craniosynostosis, so going to a university medical center or a geneticist for diagnosis would be best. Some surgeons will operate early, at 3 to 6 months, to get the best outcome. Others prefer to wait. Seek knowledgeable medical consultation for your baby.
