Panic Attacks and Hypoglycemia

Jeri

Message 15 of 19 Previous Next

Hi Peg, I have the same problem. Once my blood sugar drops I go into a panic attack. I've learned to control the problem by keeping food close by all the time. This also happens to me during exercise so I monitor my blood sugar before, during and after exercise. I've been able to pretty much alleviate the sudden drops this way. If I do have a drop though, I lay down, stay warm, and talk to a friend. Lots of times a nap will take care of it.I hate the panic attack part but I think its a normal response to the stress of the blood sugar drop. I've been taking Paxil for 2 years. It helps but I still find that monitoring my blood sugar is the best way to control the drops.
