Hi Lori, Don't let fear get in the way. Continue to live your life on purpose. Do not identify yourself with the disease. These are the convictions I live by and have been doing fine. Really fine. I was diagnosed 6 years ago. Being referred to a nuerologist after seeing a regular md with numbness on one side of my body(limbs) and severe headache and eye disturbances. After an MRI and CAT scan I was diagnosed. It scared me but I walked out of there that day and have not returned to see any doctor since or have sought out any medication for my mild symptoms. Nothing has been anywhere as severe as when I first sought an explanation for these bizarre symptoms. After about a week or so my muscle weakness was gone and I was full strenght again. Since then I have had mild vision disturbances and some tingling. I believe my attitude and my desire to live my own life and not fall into the medical associations idea of the disease has helped me take care of myself. I realize I have some day to day limitations like avoiding stress and getting proper rest also avoiding too much heat and sun. Listen to your body, follow your intuition, use your mind to control your disease, visualize a perfect state of health, write an affirmation and read it and believe it every day. I recommend the book "You Are Not Your Illness" written by a woman with MS. Lori, concider other treatments other than what your doctor perscribes. Read everything and look everywhere for answers. Fear of the unknown I realize is the biggest obstacle. Control that fear and you will be fine I just know it! Take care of yourself! please feel free to write back, I have alot of info. Sincereley, Rose
