Our son has multi-directional instability in his right shoulder and we have determined after much consultation and physical therapy that he needs surgery. About 2 months ago he was hit in his shoulder with a door and then the next day, his feet knocked out from under him and fell on his shoulder. He has had continued numbness from his collar bone completely through to his hand. NO FEELING at all. The doctor is having us see a neurologist for an EMG/NGVS test for nerve evaluation and have talked about the brachial plexis. What can you provide for us to learn about it and the recovery period.
