It has been 7 years next month since my 21 year old daughter had anoxic brain injury. Recently, say in the past year, I have noticed some improvement in her short term memory. It is very exciting to have her remember something such as my visit or that she has seen a movie we are about to re-show her. It takes a lot of patience, though. She has been in nursing homes and hospitals since her injury and now I am going to try to care for her at home. She is due to come home on Dec 28. She and I are both excited, apprehensive, hopeful that this will succeed.
