I was diagnosed with a dystonia resulting from an injury a few years ago. The muscles in my back and neck are involved, and I was fortunate enough to be seen by a neurologist at the Mayo clinic who pioneered some major studies and treatment plans. Learning to live with it and function fully as a mother of four children who works fulltime has been an interesting journey. There are knowlegeable doctors who can diagnose and treat although most of it is still experimental.If it would help, I am willing to share some of the routes I took to find a way to live with a very misunderstood condition.
