Hi Anne. I am 28 and I have had two ANs. The first was found in Dec 1995, on the left side about the size of a golf ball. I had this one surgery removed. Four years later it had regrown to the same size. I do not tell you this to scare you. Only to scare you into keeping up with your MRIs. AN are NORMALLY very slow growing tumors, I just lucky and had a very aggressive one. I had the second removed in Fed of 1999. I am doing great. I also had the some amount that was left on my tempral bone lasered with the STR. (that was not fun). In Jan of 2000, I had another MRI and it was smalled. I never thought I could be so happy. I am due for another in Sept. I wish you the best of luck with yours. My Doc is Dr Harold Smith in Lubbock Texas. To me he is the best man, he has saved my life twice.
