I have been living with depo responsive dystonia for about 18 years now. At first it was diagnosed correctly but thanks to DUPONT and my neurologist, it was diagnosed and I was initially placed on Baclofen and Artane. Now I take Sinemet CR (Levodopa) 50/200 and I am virtually cured. Congrats to all of us, this type of dystonia (which I believe is a defect in either the GCH1 or DYT5) gene is the best dystonia to have (if you have to have it). I have a lot of info. Go to the site wemove.org That should give you more info. This is a hereditary disorder in which our gene code was copied from a defective parent code (not saying that your parents have dystonia but they may have the defective gene or someone in the family....maybe parkinsons, etc. Our form of dystonia responds very well to "parkinson patient" medication. The genes that we have are defective in producing whatever makes dopamine, hence our dystonia is responsive to levadopa. Hope this helps....Email me if you wanna talk to a veteran. Also, they can now determine if you have the defective gene, go to a geneologist....
