Fibromyalgia and chronic foot pain

Message 4 of 54 Previous Next

Hi....I just read your message about fibromyalgia and foot pain. One of the Drs. I see has come to the conclsusion that I have fibromyalgia and neuropathy in my feet. I was also given neurontin to help my feet, which it did sometimes, but as a side affect from the neurontin I would get sudden jerk like spasms of which I had no control over, they wouldn't last more than 1-3 seconds and I did not like the way it made me feel. So I stopped taking the neurontin, all the spasms have stopped. This same Dr. told me the pain in my feet is caused by neuropathy, which is a common side affect of diabetics, however I'm not diabetic, so figure this out!! The pain is excruciating, I have it all day long and the only escape for me from it is sleep, but a person can't/shouldn't sleep 24/7. I have been taking oxycontin for the pain and demerol for break through pain. Like I said sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't.As for for your being desperate I can relate 100 %. Some days I think I just can't stand another day of this pain, needless to say this makes me VERY, VERY cranky, crabby and mean(Verbally) to my 15 year old son. I know this probably doesn't give you any answers your looking for but just wanted you to know your not alone with this. Elaine...elmiak@alaska.net
