I am a 45 female and I have achondroplasia. I haven't had any physical problems until my late 30s. Since then I have had to have 3 spinal surgeries (lamenectomy) due to numbness in my legs. There are so many things they know now that they didn't know when I was born, as a matter of fact I wasn't diagnosed until I was 6 months old. My personal opinion is to let him go to public school, he will have some problems with kids and believe it or not some adults asking him why he is different, but he will have that anyway, grateful for is that my parents and extended family never made me feel different. I am married now for 18 years to a man of normal stature and I have a 15 year old son of normal stature. I will answer any questions you may have if you e-mail me.
