Hi Susanne, My child is 6 and has Fragile X. It really didn't affect his IEP when we first learned of it. His preschool teacher at the time said, and I always try and remember this, "Just because we now know Denis has Fragile X, it doesn't change Denis. In otherwords, his IEP will still be based on what Denis the individual is capable of doing, not what the textbooks say a fragile X child is capable of doing."
