Hi, so good to be able to read all of your experiences they are a great deal of help to me while waiting for my 17 year old daughter to undergo anterior and posterior spinal fusion for her kyphoscoliosis 80 degrees. Her Dr has told us she will initially undergo 2-5 weeks of halo traction , followed by 2 surgeries, the first being Anterior spinal fusion, 2 weeks following this the posterior spinal fusion. More halo traction for 5 days and then a body cast for 6 months... during that time she is to be in hospital on complete bed rest, Janelle has neurofibromatosis, and her scoliosis is a characteristic of that. I am interested in ANYTHING ANYONE might have to offer, support or sharing their own experiences. I understand this surgery is not without risks and am terrified for her, having to go through an ordeal like this at her age. Also too , as she is in her final year of school we have had to defer her HSC (exams, all of this psychologically trying as well. Thankyou hope yo hear something.
