I think that MOST people with IC have to go on disability at some point. I am at the same point in my disease as you--had it for 8 years and over the last year it has become unbearable. I too am ready to go on disability (I'm only 24). The Interstitial Cystitis Association has fought long and hard to get IC recognized as a disabling disease. Check out their website, they even put out written material for helping people get on disability. I too don't know where to begin. Social Security or state?
