I was diagnosed with FMS two years ago.....by luck I was refered to a doctor (rheumatolgist) who was very familar with FMS and it made all the difference.....my treatment has been an uphill pull but in the end quite effective....check out your local Arthritis Foundation- they will have a listing of doctors who are tuned into the treatment of FMS....as for the pain my doctor put me on the drug Ultram it works differently than most pain relivers and has made a real difference in my pain levels.....it doesn't work for everyone and sometimes the side effects can't be tolerated but it has reduced my pain to very tolerable levels......I'm back riding my horses again- that should tell you how effective it was for me ! Don't give up !! FMS can be managed quite well with the right doctor and a good dose of hope and faith !!!
