Hi Gordon: I am 27 years old and I have already been diagnosed three DVT. Since my last recurrence, I am now on coumadin for life at a INR of 3.0 and I have to wear compression stockings. I am an avid flyer myself, and in fact I have flown several times since my last episode, to Africa, the United States and within Argentina. I never had any more troubles, but, before the trip, I always go to my doctor's to check that my INR is at range, I ALWAYS wear the compression stockings during the flight, and what is also very important, I walk up and down the airplane's aisle every three hours, in order to keep my blood circulating, especially since my DVT were always in the right leg.
