My father-in-law had unstoppable hiccups after a double pneumonia. The Dr. gave him Zantac 150mg and after every meal he took Maalox to coat his stomac. He had an inflamed oesophagus and I suspect also GERD (Reflux), from all the medications he had for his lungs. Hope this information might work.
