I have not been in your situation. I have had RSD for about a year. In my situation it was not severe and I do not have constant pain. The physitrist that I saw explained that in some cases it will go away, but if you bump it or reinjure it it could come back. When treating it as an occupational therapy assistant I did not see cases where it got a hundred percent better. I would say to stay off of it. If the injury has been longer then six months ago apply for Social Security. See what yourDoctor says about that. You may get Work comp to pay for re-education training as part of the claim. Take Them up on it. Find a job that does not take being on your feet all day. Be careful about working because if work comp knows you can they may say you do not have a claim. Good luck and my prayers are with you.
