I am desperately looking to talk to someone with a DVT, Mine was massive the femoral,ileal and inferior vena cava veins. I was on tamoxifen and that is probably the cause but that doesn't make any difference, our results seem to be the same. It is inoperable because it was extensive they kept me in hospital 9 days said it would take a couple of week then a couple of month. It is now 8 months and I am still on coumadin 5-2every day and more than likely will be on it forever. I was very optimistic in the beginnig but sometimes I get depressed. I used to walk all the time, now I am limited as my leg swells and I have to get it up. Mine happened in Oct.99. I hope ur husband is doing better. best of luck. B.
