You've probably found out your answer by now. I've had 2 ovarian cysts, both of which resolved spontaneously. One caused abdominal pain, the other did not. A friend of mine had a bleeding ovarian cyst and the bleeding did not resolve and she had to have surgery. Usually an ultrasound is done as a follow-up.
