Epilepsy / Seizures

Don't give up hope of being with someone. I am the wife of someone that has seizures since he was 18. There is no known cause for my husbands seizures. We have been married for 15 years now, however we continue to struggle with controlling his epilepsy. I cannot say it has been easy, we have had our trying times. The past 3 or 4 months, he has had more seizures than I can count. I want everyone out there to understand that when one member of the family has this disorder, the whole family has it. My daughters and I have to deal with it every day too. The person that is having the seizure is not really 'there' but the people around him know what is going on and are sometimes very scared and not sure what to do. We live a basically normal life, we both work, etc. but it is difficult to never be able to completely rely on my husband, I always have to be the one that takes care of him. Sometimes I want it the other way around. Are there any families out there that are in this same situation? I would like to hear from you. Do you love your spouse but hate their epilepsy?
