My nine year old son has had strep 4x in the last 4 months. within 2 weeks of finishing a course of antibiotics, he gets sick again. Needless to say, we will be going to see an ENT for further discussion of the problem. Has anyone approached their school regarding the issue. I have a feeling there may be a carrier in my son's class OR there are wonderful parents who send their kids to school sick. Since this is becoming a problem, I will be talking to the principal. Another thing that our doctor told us, besides changing toothbrushes etc., is to make sure the kids don't drink from a drinking fountain......take bottled water to school. It is frustrating and I, like many of you have serious issues with all the antibiotic use. I feel badly that my son has to miss school....it hard on our family. I've become a lysol and cleaning freak to no avail.... the doctor is certain that school is the source of the infection. We have all tested negative as carriers.
