Hypothyroid, weight gain, memory problems, and fatigue

I have been successfullyy dealing with hypothyroid which I have had for years and only recently have been able to make some headway. I DO NOT recommend taking the thyroid hormone - even Armor Thyroid - because you'll be on it forever as the thyroid will totally shut down. Here's what has worked for me. A biologically available source of iodine, a supplement that includes some Ayurvedic herbs, using coconut oil to cook with (boosts metabolic rate), using a natural progesterone cream (Estrogen imbalance is one cause of suppressed thyroid function), avoiding fluoride (suppresses thyroid function) and avoiding ALL soy products (supresses thyroid function), and finally a gentle liver cleanse (T4 is converted to T3 in the liver). How do I know it works? My basal body temperature has incresed .5 degrees and is now almost normal, I have much more energy, I'm losing weight for the first time in 10 yearsk, and my memory and concentration is back to almost normal.
