I also have asthma, fibro, chronic fatigue, epstein barr and have had kidney stones. I was told quite the opposite from you. I was diagnosed as having auto-immune diseases which means my body sees parts of itself as the enemy and fights against itself. I would check with your doc again to get a clarification so you can do some research on your own...there's quite a bit about the fibro/chronic fatigue/epstein barr connection. Good Luck.
