HERBS that HELP control LUPUS

Joyce

I'm a 50 yr.old woman with Advanced Lupus SLE. I didn't Know a thing about Lupus at the time my sister-in-law had severely advanced Lupus SLE when she died 8 yrs. ago. She donated her organs to research. Since my successful diagnosis (finally) 2 yrs. ago, I've found that research has learned what NOT to do, but unfortunately, hasn't come up with anything but harmful experimental chemicals, anti-inflamatories and steroids to"treat" it. All of which aren't processed well by weakened liver & kidneys, not to mention, damage them further. Steroids caused serious endocrine problems including Cushings Syndrome,& nearly killed me. Anti-inflamatories destroyed my digestive system. Every specialist gave me a new chemical drug to counteract every other chemical drug's negative effects---it was a nightmare of chain re-actions adding more and more sickness & pain. I went off everything & prayed for help. I researched everything I could about herbs on a Health store info. computer double-checking for effects on specific organs, and noting those to avoid because of immunal stimulation. I began taking Milk Thistle & Dandelion for my liver, Acidophilus & the Amino acid Glutamine, & capsules of the spice Tumeric & powdered white fish capsules (SEACURE), and ROBERT'S FORMULA tincture, all to soothe my stomach & aid digestion (ginger created more distress),& Ginko for my kidneys. A tincture of Calendula (2 droppersful in hot water ) is a qucik acting natural,anti-inflamatory without bad affects. And a tinture of German Camomile to help sleep. All help tremendously. Since Lupus affects the connective tissues, I read about the specific amino acids that aid tissue repair, and began taking them in capsule form since the meats that contain them are difficult to digest & cause inflamation. That helps. Primrose Oil, ZONE distilled fish oil, & Vitamin E 400 iu MIXED tocopherols 3X day, each really help. Pure E oil helps externally on the painful discoid sores. Lipoic Acid capsules also help connective tissue repair. The BEST BOOK on Lupus is "LUPUS, ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES THAT WORK", by Sharon Moore, which confirmed my own findings, added to them, & increased my knowledge & resolve. I've also found a wonderfully knowledgable certified Natureopath. 2 YEARS AGO I WAS NEARLY DEAD, and wanted to be ! Now, my kidneys, liver, adrenals, pancreas, heart, lungs & limbs are working more consistantly--- I am semi-functional, and more capable of "handling" the hellish roller-coaster ride. Other Good books: "Healing with Amino Acids", by Billie J. Sahley, Ph.D. "Adrenal Fatigue", by James L. Wilson, ND,DC,Ph.D "Glutathione, Essential Health Aid", by Dr. Jimmy Gutman, MD. >>> Good-luck and God Bless! Joyce
