It is a cyst. I have had to deal with dozens of cysts on my ovaries. They can cause an unusual amount of pain. Some of them go away on their own, others linger and can become very large and distended. Estrogen is feeding them, so if you are on birth control,you might think about an alternative source of birth control. Take care.
