I was diagnosed with Pemphigus Vulgaris three years ago. I went through an agressive treatment of prednisone along with Cellcept. It controls the pemphigus, but does not cure it. Have your son go to a dermatologist who specializes in rare skin diseases. I am going to Dr. Tom Woodley at USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. There is also a Pemphigus Foundation website and they are based in Berkely, CA that gives you the latest information on Pemphigus. This disease can be controlled and the medication does give you side effects. but I would rather have the side effects than go through so much pain. Your son needs to see a dentist immediately.
