Everything that you mentioned in your posting, stress, sedentary lifestyle, an increase in weight, and age are all major factors in your increased blood pressure.Obviously I can not tell you not to worry about your husband, but accept help from family members, if you have it, and do not be afraid to ask for help when needed. Confide in someone about how you feel as this may help alleviate some of the stress by talking about what is on your mind. Try to decrease the amount of salt in your diet, watch you fat intake and eat a balanced diet. If you are healthy enough take small walks around your neighborhood and whenever possible. Remember to take your medication as prescribed and approximately at the same time each day. With the stress of your sick husband, remember to try not to "sweat the small stuff". In a sense pick what is more inportant to worry over and try not to add unecessary stresses, as your plate is full enough. I wish the best for both you and your husband!!!
