I have had IBS for many years. Nothing seems to help. When I feel real bad spasms coming on, I drink a coka cola which helps to release air and gas. I try to keep pain meds on hand for times like these and take them until it starts to subside. It's really hard to get the doctor to continue to give them to me, so at times, Ihave gone to the emergency room. Good luck to you. It sure does put a crimp in your life 'cause you never know when it's going to happen. Mine usually happens at bedtime or wakes me in the middle of the night.
