Hi, I have a son with Down syndrom, he did not have any fluid on his spine. I did have ultra sounds during my pregnecy but did not know he was Down syndrom until birth. Four years later I got pregent with my daughter, we had to see a genitic specialist, He did a really high tech ultra sound and also took fluid from inside the babys sack to see if she had Downs, but she came out fine. I wish you all the luck, if your baby is Downs, you'll eventually realize he or she is a joy. There's allot to learn but you can do it. I think the hardest thing is accepting it at first, then every thing falls into place. Every decision you make for this child will be a hard decision, you'll be very protective of him or her. Let us know how things go and try not to worry to much, it's hard on the baby. Karen W.
