I had IBS also. And ulcerative colitis off and on for 18 years. I found something that has totally straightened me out. No more pain or discomfort. I was willing to do anything to get better. Go to your library or bookstore and get the books "Eat right 4 your type" and "Live right for your type." Follow the diet advice in the Live right book. It is the result of further research and knocks out some of the info in the first one. It is all about chemical reactions in your body with foods. The book tells you what foods you can eat for your blood type. And it isn't very restricting. It is not for weight loss - it is for health and smooth sailing in your body. I am a blood type O and can eat beef, chicken, some seafood, some fruits, veggies, even chocolate and red wine. My main thing is no wheat -aggravates bowels, corn or potatoes. Believe me, I have tried everything. Things are normal now and I am not planning my day around, or spend time being apprehensive about my gut. Please don't nay-say this until you give it a try. I began to feel better within two days. Good luck.
