Help ! Severe leg cramps in the middle of the night! Within the past year, I have lost 160 lbs. Its been a lot of hard work through exercise, diet and basic lifestyle changes. I have been monitored carefully by my doctor through out this entire process. Recently I have been waking up in the middle of the night with sever cramps in my right calf. I literally have to get up and try to walk the cramp out. I have increased my potassium intake, cut back on my salt and increased my water. I'm not sure what else to do but the "Charlie Horses" are occurring more frequently. What can I do? In terms of exercise I do step aerobics, jazzercise, tae bo and swim. Recently I have been mainly doing tae bo. I would appreciate any suggestions !
