Of course, a chiropractor may help you! Chiropractors are the neuromusculoskeletal specialists. They can determine the extent of your spinal integrity to determine if there's a structural problem. If you are subluxated (out of alignment) this can cause pressure on nerves going to the tissues and organs of your body causing them to not function properly. You should consult with a doctor of chiropractic. They are licensed physicians who can diagnose, treat and refer, if necessary. They will take a complete history, give you a super thorough exam and often will order x-rays, as the x-ray is the main diagnostic tool for the chiropractic physician. (They analyze "structure" to determine "function.") After the doctor studies your "findings, he/she will report on these to you and inform you whether or not it's something he/she can treat, and if you are accepted as a patient. A diagnosis may be made and a treatment plan designed for your condition may be recommended. Care usually begins on the day of the Report of Findings, unless one is in excruciating pain, or in acute shape. Then it's the doctor's call as to how to proceed to give the patient some relief. Adjusting techniques and adjunctive modes of therapies may be administered in your care program, as well as exercises and stretching techniques designed for your condition. Do check out chiropractors . . . they are primary care, portal of entry providers. Find out if the one you choose is a member of their local, state, and national associations. Chiropractic care is all natural . . . nothing put into the body . . . nothing taken away. It's holistic . . . working with the body's own natural recuperative powers to strive to be in a state of wellness. It's a conservative, drug free, non-surgical health discipline that has helped thousands of people regain and maintain their health. Check it out! Patti
