You're correct, spicey foods do cause problems. I try to avoid them as much as possible but sometimes I can "get by" with a little from time to time. I've had acid reflux for many years. I have my bed elevated about 8in., try not to eat past supper time, for me that is about 6:30PM. The NEXIUM, which I also take, is the ONLY medication that has ever helped me. I do well on it, as well as other things I mentioned. I know about that awful pain, too. I don't have that anymore, either. I overheard a Dr. say once, to drink lots of water. I eat a meal and then drink water, only, not any other type of liquid, for about 30 minutes, after each meal. Don't drink it all at one time, just in sips, and through a straw. The straw keeps you from getting air into the stomach. I know this sounds maybe "far out" but it helps me and I had a bad case of acid reflux.
