I have also had similar symptoms from shingles. I am 43 years od and had a sever case of shingles a few months ago, along with severe headaches. Possibly have your relative checked for possible hydrocephalus, or water on the brain. This is what I was also diagnosed with which would help explain the tremendous headaches at the same time as the shingles. Just a thought. I am now taking anti-seizure meds to help control these headaches, and would possible help in your situation.
