My father had a problem with his feet hurting while he was taking coumadin. After a year and seven doctors later, I found in the PDR book that there is a rare reaction to coumadn called purple toes syndrome. It causes a reaction that feels like a rubber band has been tightly placed around the toes. Doctors disagreed until my father was taken off of coumadin and put on lovenox. His feet clear up immediately. You should check with your doctor regarding this. Good Luck, denise
