I have had this condition 2 times now , the first 10 years ago I had surgery for a Varicocele( curling vein in left cord) at 17 years and after this operation developed a hydrocele ( water bag )had this bag then removed ( no more hydrocele ) at 25 developed Epididymitis , was put on the miacin type drug , which i understand is good for the Chlamydia bacteria , did not work! they fund no cultures in tests! , went through a long time of pain , then went to Holland on business , went to see a dutch doctor , he said i should go on to Ciproxin (brand name) medical name Ciprofloxacin 500mg 2 times a day , think my condition is caused by the E coli bug from my bowl , the dutch doctor told me that this E coli bug can sometimes make it way down the spermatic cord thats why no tests show anything ! Ceproxin ( Ciprofloxacin )seems to be good at geting this bug . this last atack i have asked for this drug again . The pain on the this 2nd time is not as bad so far as the first time , the swelling on the first time took a long time to go down never to how it was before the epididymitis first came , I have always felt like something was not quite right there , you have to be informed that the swelling can take a long time to go down. Just one thing though , since my first fight with this Epididymitis my wife hs had 3 children , and they are mine!
