I don't know if the treatment for Herpes Simplex Type I and II would be helpful for shingles. It's called Valtrex. It's used as a preventative for the herpes which shingles is of that family of virus. Also, sunlight and nerves can cause outbreaks in herpes, and some foods should be avoided, such as chocolate, cured cheeses, such as bleu cheese and also, yogurt is not good for one with herpes. If you live near the ocean, seawater can be helpful for the skin overall. Don't go in too deep!
